Minister’s Biographies

Jamie Holtom

Jamie grew up in Oshawa, Ontario where he lived with his parents and his twin brother Jason. Upon completion of high school he went off to the University of Waterloo to prepare to teach phys ed and science. Instead of teaching, he ended up at Emmanuel College where he spent the next four years working on his Masters of Divinity. Upon graduation, Jamie came directly to North Bramalea United where he has been a full-time minister since July 1998.

Since moving to Brampton in 1998 with his wife Katrina, Jamie has been passionate about the community that NBUC is serving and was named the Brampton’s 2014 Citizen of the Year for his work in the city. Jamie serves as the chaplain for the Brampton Fire Department. He also serves as a board member for The Journey Neighbourhood Centre and the Wellspring-Chinguacousy Cancer Support Centre.

Jamie also loves coaching a community basketball team and most importantly being dad to his children.

Debbie Johnson

Debbie Johnson is an ordained minister in the United Church of Canada. Debbie has a long history of working with North Bramalea and came on staff in 2008 in a full time position. Debbie stepped back from full time ministry in January, 2017. She is currently serving part-time in the areas of Congregational Care and Wellness, Worship, Senior Leadership Team and supporting other areas of NBUC’s ministry.
